Case Study: TE Connectivity Engineering Headquarters



Overview

10, 000 SF renovation and lighting efficiency upgrade of TE Connectivity's Engineering Offices in Middletown, PA included new high efficiency EMerge standardized plug and play fluorescent DC lighting using embedded power distribution in the suspended ceiling grid. TE employed the traditional design/bid/build process to execute the LEED certified project.

What it achieves

In additional to reduced energy consumption compared to similar office areas at TE, and thanks to its "plug and play" architecture, it required significantly less installation labor as compared to an essentially identical 10, 000 SF installation using traditionally wired ac line voltage lighting fixtures. TE expects any future reconfiguration costs will be minimal due to the significant increased flexibility of the embedded ceiling grid safe, low voltage (24Vdc) power distribution systems which will not require re- power interruption or wiring changes during regular lighting maintenance or future fixture moves and changes.
